Japan is Rein's main specialisation and we've spent a lot of time there. These pictures have been selected for a collection of translated haiku poetry. I like best the one with a gate in the fog - it is done on a very early morning on top of Mt.Hiei, where the head monastery of the Tendai Buddhists is. You can see from it that Japanese ink painting is entirely realistic!
